Newly recruited sepoys of Customs department complete academic training

ISLAMABAD: A two months training has been imparted to the newly recruited sepoys of the Customs Department of North Region. The training was concluded on March 3, 2017 after certificates’ distribution.

According to details, Member (HRM) of Federal Board of Revenue Rozi Khan Barki, Chief Collector North Ms. Sarwat Tahira Habib, Collector Model Customs Collectorate Islamabad Dr. Arslan and Additional Director Directorate of Training and Research Customs Dr. Sadiqullah Khan addressed the participants.

Dr. Sadiqullah Khan told Customs Today that it is the first major recruitment has been conducted in two decades. The sepoys were selected through National Testing Service (NTS), he said adding that two months physical training was given by the FC KPK and the specialized academic training was given by the Directorate of Training & Research Islamabad.

He told that the academic training emphasized upon three aspects including professional training, development of soft and digital skills, adding that keeping in view the vision of department the professional skills included basic knowledge of law, procedure, drafting and introduction of office procedures.

He said that the soft skills comprised team building, general behavior, public service delivery and importance of discipline whereas the trainees were also imparted computer practices i.e. apps utilization and specialized modules of the UNODC through e-learning, drug interdiction and enforcement.

He further said that trainees also learnt how to use Web Based Clearance System (WeBOC) and Transit Trade Management System (TTMS), adding that the induction of these newly recruited trained sepoys will enhance the enforcement mechanism.
