KARACHI: The inauguration of Eduljee Dinshaw Road project has been delayed as earlier it was scheduled that project would be opened for public on Monday, October 26, 2015.

The project was the brain-child of Pakistan Customs and supported by Karachi Port Trust (KPT) to reshape the Eduljee Dinshaw Road in order to bring back its lost grandeur.

“The delay is attributed to the non-availability of Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad Governor Sindh on his other official engagements,” said Qamar Thalo, a spokesperson for Pakistan Customs while talking to Customs Today.

He said the new date of opening the project would be announced later.

The said project was initiated to provide hassle free access to the commuters as Customs House and KPT on daily routine. Besides this the project would add beauty to the historical place.

During renovation work all service cables being provided by civic utilities like Karachi Electric, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, National Transmission Company and others are underground in a running trench.

The 24 inches old rainwater service has been repaired in order to avoid any huddle in the smooth flow of sewage.
