Pak youth, made hostage by human smugglers in Azerbaijan, reaches home

SIALKOT: A Sialkot based Pakistani youth Ali Raza, taken hostage by some international human traffickers in Azerbaijan, reached home on Wednesday. The accused released him following the arrest of their two accused companions by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) here.

Khalid Anees (FIA Divisional Deputy Director) told CT that victim Ali Raza reached home in Sambrial-Sialkot after his twelve-day long captivity in Azerbaijan by Zubair Warraich in Azerbaijan who had made him hostage demanding Rs1.8million ransom from his widowed mother Surraya Bibi in Sambrial..

Khalid Anees (FIA Divisional Deputy Director ) revealed that Bhopalwala-Sambrial based two accused human smugglers named Anees Ahmed and Sagheer Ahmed had sent Sambrial based widow Surraya Bibi’s young son Ali Raza to Azerbaijan illegally from Sialkot to Azerbaijan via Dubai by Sialkot International Airport on October 13, 2017 after getting Rs250000.

Zubair Warraich kidnapped Ali Raza soon after his landing in Azerbaijan.

Widow Surraya Bibi approached the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) who arrested both accused Anees Ahmed and Sagheer Ahmed, residents of Bhopalwala, Sambrial tehsil), on Oct 23, 2017.

Both accused were on physical remand given by a local court in this case. Further investigations are underway.
