Pakistan Customs asked to nominate officers for JID by Feb 20

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has set February 20 as the deadline for Pakistan Customs to nominate three officials for the Joint Intelligence Directorate (JID) aimed at containing terrorism and allied activities.

In this regard, the FBR has asked the collectors/directors to nominate three customs officers for establishing a JID envisioned under NACTA Act, 2013 and Section 47 of National Internal Security Policy (NISP 2014-18).

The JID will serve as a coordination platform for information exchange between National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) and Pakistan Customs with a view to achieve the common objective of countering terrorism and allied activities in the country. It will consist of 30 desks one of which will be headed by a BS-18 officer of Pakistan Customs, preferably having experience of serving in Directorate General Intelligence and Investigation, FBR, who will primary serve as conduit of information exchange between NACTA and Pakistan Customs.

The FBR asked the Customs to nominate such officers of Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) BS-18 who are interested in the position and have relevant qualification and experience should be forwarded to FBR, along with their CVs by February 20, 2016.
