LAHORE: National Engineering Services Pakistan (Nespak) has secured a landmark Neom project in Saudi Arabia, the premier engineering consultancy’s Acting Managing Director Zargham Eshaq Khan said, announcing the significant achievement — a first for any Pakistani firm.
The project’s primary focus is on the energy sector, and it was granted to Nespak by the Saudi Electric Company (SEC), a milestone that underscores the consultancy’s growing influence and expertise in the international engineering landscape.
The firm’s responsibilities encompass overseeing construction management for projects involving Extra High Voltage (EHV), High Voltage (HV), and High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) across various zones including Neom Bay, Neom Mountain and Neom Phase II.
The project carries a budget of 46.5 million Saudi Riyals, equivalent to Rs3.794 billion, with a scheduled completion timeframe of three years.
Nespak’s success in securing the project was a testament to the technical excellence and unwavering commitment of its professionals, the company said in a statement.
The firm was established in 1973 as a private limited company by the Pakistani government with the objective of creating a pool of talented engineers, attaining self-reliance in engineering consultancy and replacing foreign consultants.
Currently, it has a total strength of over 4,500 employees.
The total estimated turnover for the year 2021-2022 was Rs. 8.5 billion whereas the total cumulative cost of the projects undertaken by Nespakis USD 330 billion, accoridng to its website.
