KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange Friday witnessed a record-breaking opening and reached 40261.67 level after adding 124.74 points in early trading.
On Thursday, the PSX benchmark KSE 100-share Index closed higher by 52.06 points, or 0.13 percent, to 40,136.93 points against 40,084.87 points recorded in the last session. The highest index of the day remained at 40,289.76 points, while the lowest level of the day was recorded at 40,052.87 points. Turnover surged by 67 million shares to 565.88 million shares against 498.46 million shares, trading value decreased to Rs16.19 billion against Rs17.74 billion, while market capitalisation remained flat at Rs8.05 trillion. Of the 443 companies’ active in the session, 214 remained in the positive territory, 213 in the negative zone, while 16 remained unchanged.
