QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs Appraisement surpassed revenue collection target assigned for July-Jan 2020-21.
According to the details, customs duty collection by the Collectorate (in July-Jan 2020-21 stood at Rs4.295 billion against the assigned target of Rs3.426 Billion, i-e Rs869 million is collected over and above the assigned target.
The collection surpassed the assigned target by over 25 percent. The customs duty collection of Rs552 million in Jan 2021 is 10 percent higher than the assigned target of Rs501 million.
During the 7 months of July-June 2020-21, the total revenue (customs duty & other taxes) collected by Customs Appraisement Quetta is Rs16.488 billion which is 95 percent of Rs17.524 billion collected during entire last financial year 2019-20.
The Collectorate is following Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), policy of effective monitoring to combat mis-declaration, facilitation of trade through reduction in clearance time, open door policy for redressal of grievances and strict adherence to transparent and merit based decision making.
In this regard, role of sister organizations, Model Customs Collectorate (Enforcement) Quetta, Directorate of Intelligence & Investigation, Quetta, in curbing smuggling and facilitating trade is commendable.
The Collectorate also acknowledges the cooperation extended by Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Quetta, and Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chaman, to encourage legal trade.
Moreover, as a part of trade facilitation in Dry Port Transshipment, the Collectorate has test run the WeBOC module. By the end of this month, the WeBOC module for Dry Port transshipment will be functional.
