Quetta Customs seizes 100 fake number-plates, electronic items valued Rs01m

KARACHI: The Customs Intelligence and Investigations Quetta took action against smuggling during the month of June. Only yesterday, Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Quetta, during its crackdown on smuggling, confiscated 100 fake number plates and electronics items.

The customs team recovered LED monitors, key boards, LED TVs and so many other things. Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Collector Customs Preventive Junaid Mehmood received a tip-off that some smugglers are trying to smuggle a big number of electronic items. He immediately constituted a raiding team.

The team enhanced the vigilance in the area of Mustong and raided a house. During a search operation, team found 100 non-custom-paid smart phones and arrested two persons named Norul Huda and Saryab Mehar. The price of the smart mobiles is one million rupees.

During another crackdown, the Customs Quetta seized a large number of fake number plates. Deputy Collector Customs Preventive Junaid Mehmood received a tip-off about the fake number plates. He immediately formed a raiding team and stopped the car on the Highway. During a search, the team recovered 160 fake number plates and arrested the car driver.
