Rawalpindi ASO impounds 22 smuggled generators worth Rs 21m

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization of Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Rawalpindi has seized 22 smuggled generators in Tarnol area of Islamabad. The market value of seized items is Rs 21 million.

Sources told Customs Today that Additional Director Mohammad Saleem received information about smuggling of the generators. Soon after receiving the tip off, he formed a raiding team under the supervision of Deputy Director Customs Intelligence Afzal Ahmad Wattoo.

The ASO team raided the godown of M/s. Universal Diesel Services, G and Company and M/s. Jannat Generators and recovered 22 smuggled generators. The ASO team asked the owner of the godown to produce legal documents regarding the possession but he failed to show any relevant documents.

The ASO team seized the generators and registered a case against the owner of the smuggled generators.
