RTO decides to receive tax on TV fee from Iesco

ISLAMABAD: The Regional Tax Office (RTO) of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to receive income tax from TV fee collected by the Islamabad Electric Supply Corporation (Iesco) from consumers.

Sources informed Customs Today that the RTO is also scrutinizing all the data of Iesco through which they will determine that how much amount Iesco paid to the PTV.

Sources said that the RTO will also receive 10 percent withholding tax from Pakistan Television Corporation, because it was revealed during the scrutiny of documents that the PTV earns a huge amount under the head of license fee. Sources also said that there are at least 2.5 million people who are watching PTV transmissions and they are paying license fee.

The RTO is optimistic that they will earn an amount of Rs 1.2 million under the head of withholding tax from PTV.
