Intelligence agencies start investigations against corrupt officials

SIALKOT: Special teams of intelligence agencies have been formed to collect details of the movable and immovable properties, side businesses, number of vehicles and bank accounts of the government officials, especially the officials of the Revenue Department.

The agencies will collect the record of officials of different departments, including town administrations, Customs, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), highways, Excise and Taxation, Irrigation Department, Gepco, SNGPL and Food Department in Gujranwala Division.

According to the senior officials, the corrupt officials and employees of these departments have become millionaire by earning money and wealth through unfair means. Several inquiries were already being conducted by the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

The intelligence agencies are also getting the complete official data of these high profile inquiries, besides, compiling the separate lists of the corrupt officials and other employees of these departments here.

Most of these corrupt officials have got their properties registered in the name of their wives and other family members, while several corrupt have their properties under their own ownership.
