KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has adjourned until February 2 the hearing of a case pertaining to the smuggling of cellular phones and foreign-made alcohol into the country.
The court adjourned the case due to absence of investigation officer Akbar Ahmed.
According to the prosecution, Pakistan International Airlines staffer, Fida Hussain, was caught with 1,264 mobile phones and nine bottles of alcohol at the Jinnah International Airport on November 25. Fida was intercepted at the arrival hall of the airport and the customs officers recovered nine bottles of liquor and 1,264 mobile phones when checked his bags. Subsequently, Fida was taken into custody and an FIR was registered against him.
