Petitioner Atif Ishtiaq submitted that the Directorate General of Customs Valuation had issued a Valuation Ruling No. 750/2015 for assessing the value of household sewing machine motors and servomotors.  The valuation rates of motors have been increased substantially and therefore, he has filed an appeal for review of the ruling which is pending decision.

The petitioner’s counsel Ghulam Nabi Shar said that the petitioner’s consignment of servomotors has arrived at the port. Since the new valuation ruling has been impugned the consignment be released as he was ready to deposit differential amount of duty and taxes with Nazir of the court.
