KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has ordered provisional release of two consignments of servomotors.  A division bench of the SHC gave this order while hearing a petition filed by Furqan Ishtiaq and Kashif Zia who challenged the Valuation Ruling 750/2015 for assessing the value of household sewing machine motors and servomotors.

The valuation rates of the imported machines and motors have been increased substantially and therefore, he filed an appeal for review of the rates which is pending decision.  He said that the petitioners’ consignments of 3086 and 950 sets of servomotors arrived at the port. Since the new valuation ruling has been impugned the consignment be released as he was ready to deposit differential amount of duty and taxes with Nazir of the court.
