Additional Collector directs M/s Zee Tex to pay Rs2.9m

ISLAMABAD: Additional Collector Adjudication Imran Ahmed Chaudhary has penalized M/s Zee Tex for attempting to defraud the national exchequer through mis-declaration.

Additional Collector Adjudication Imran Ahmed Chaudhary told Customs Today that the audit team observed during scrutiny of imported data of M/s Zee Tex that it imported consignments of cloth and cleared the same from Islamabad dry port by willfully and knowingly mis-declaring the goods under inappropriate PCT Heading by evading the government revenue of Rs 2.9 million. The audit department forwarded the case for further judgment to the additional collector, Islamabad.

After detailed hearing of the case, the Additional Collector office found the charges established and ordered the importer M/s Zee Tex to pay Rs 2.9 million into the government treasury, ONO has been issue in this regard.
