Customs Appellate Tribunal dismisses ownership claim of vehicle due to fake documents

ISLAMABAD: Customs Appellate Tribunal Bench-I on Monday dismissed a case e following submission of fake and forged documents of vehicle’s ownership.

A single bench of the Customs Appellate Tribunal comprising Chairman Ghulam Murtaza Bhatti heard the case and dismissed it due to submission of fake and forged documents. The case was filed against Collectorate of Customs, Islamabad.

The appellant in the case, Dr Saeed Ullah, had attached a fake and forged certificate of hte vehicle’s ownership.The document beard the stamp of Karachi Customs Office.

During the hearing, thCustoms authorities had submitted before the tribunal that Saeed had provided a fake and forged certificate of vehicle’s ownership.

On Monday, the tribunal was verified by the Karachi customs that Saeed had presented fake documents. Upon meeting this investigation, the chairman dismissed the case in which the appellant had pleaded the tribunal to release his vehicle confiscated by the Customs authorities.
