ISLAMABAD: A division bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) will hear six sales and income references on Wednesday (today), challenging decisions of the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR).
A single bench of the IHC, comprising of Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, would hear the cases filed during 2011 and 2014.
Among these tax matters, two income tax matters were filed by Pakistan Television Corporation Limited. The appellant had challenged the ATIR decisions through the petitions 174/2011 and 175/2011.
Four sales tax matters were filed by M/s Orient Power Company (Private) Limited, M/s Saba Power Company (Private) Limited and M/s Fauji Kabirwala Power Company (Private) Limited. All of these appellants had made the ATIR as respondent in the cases besides officers of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
M/s Fauji Kabirwala Power Company had filed two petitions in which it had questioned the legal standing of the ATIR decision given in favour of the Large Taxpayers’ Unit, Islamabad.
